The Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) invites applications from highly motivated and well experienced citizens of Botswana to fill the vacant post Deputy Manager – Facilities Management, which exists at Botswana Public Service College (BPSC).
VACANCY: Deputy Manager- Facilities Management: One (1) Post
SALARY: D1 (P251, 376 – P277, 524 per annum)
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
BENEFITS:
• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%).
• Compulsory Contributory Pension Fund (Government pays 15% and Employee pays 5%).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Estate/ Property Management or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
At least eight (8) years relevant qualification experience, two (2) years of which must have been served at middle management at D2 salary scale in Government or equivalent / comparative level in Parastatal or Private organization.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage the maintenance, usage of the college buildings and all services contracts such as cleaning, security, catering and gardening in the Botswana Public service College
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Develop facility management regulations, procedures and requirements.
• Interpret and administer College facility management procedures and regulations.
• Advice senior management on other areas to consider for outsourcing and leads their implementation.
• Engage in contract negotiations to ensure that all obligations of the contract are met.
• Plan and manage the maintenance programme for the College facilities.
• Manage the provision of cleaning, security, gardening and catering services.
• Develop and maintain all college facilities contracts.
• Assess and oversee safety of the College facilities.
• Supervise maintenance works to ensure they meet the regulations and standards.
• Prepare reports on the operational effectiveness of the facilities.
• Provide liaison between internal managers and users, and suppliers to identify and resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare budget for the maintenance of the facilities and manage revenue collected through the lease of facilities.
• Initiate and manage procurement of College facilities.
• Assess personal knowledge and skills against job specific competencies to identify developmental needs and priorities.
• Share information, knowledge, experiences and learning with others.
• Undertakes any other related duties to as may be assigned by management .
