2.BUSINESS ANALYST
•Department: IT, Innovation Department
•The post is tenable in Gaborone
2.1.Main purpose of the Job:
The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding, researching, defining and documenting the business requirements and feasibility studies in accordance with the company standards and ensuring the solution meets the business requirements.
2.2.Main Duties and Responsibilities
2.2.1.Analysis and Solution Definition:
•Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of the organization and industry.
•Identifies the organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement.
•Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
•Develops functional specifications and system design specifications
2.2.2.Technical Recommendation and Testing:
•Actively participates in the country testing efforts.
•Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
•Works with cross-functional business areas to identify required changes.
•Communicates needed changes to BIGS Platform team.
2.2.3.Communication:
•Assists in the facilitation of country team meetings.
•Delivers informative, well-organized presentations.
•Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
•Facilitates joint design workshops (JAD sessions) and accurately documents the outcomes of these meetings
2.2.4.Technical Understanding:
•Possesses a level of understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
•Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
•Understands how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other.
2.2.5.Problem Solving:
•Required to work with functions across the business to identify and direct the solutioning process of business issues.
2.2.6.Resource Engagement:
•Develops good working relationships with business resources.
•Communicates effectively with colleagues to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
•Manages colleagues’ expectations effectively.
2.2.7.General:
•Conduct impact and feasibility assessments according to agreed standards and format and obtain sign off as per desired deliverables.
•Deliver business and functional specification documents according to agreed standards and formats
•Improves upon existing approaches by seeking opportunities to creatively transform current practices/processes into fresh alternative solutions
•Prioritizes multiple allocated tasks effectively and contributes to the successful running of a project
•Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging
•Ability to communicate clearly and to guard all business relationships in a professional way

2.4.Position requirements
2.4.1.Qualifications:
•Degree in Business/Business Analysis, Project Management or any related field.
2.4.1.Experience
•4+ years proven working experience in methodologies of Business Analysis.
•2+ years System Analyst experience at initial career stages - highly advantageous
•2+ years Credit or Retail Lending experience - highly advantageous
•Financial Accounting and Account Processing knowledge/experience - highly advantageous
