1. OBJECTIVES
In order to strengthen the implementation of the WASH section of the program, UNICEF Madagascar recruiting for a temporary position as a Director Sanitation and Hygiene.
2. ACTIVITIES
Under the supervision of WASH Specialist, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Inventory Actors Involved in Improving sanitation and hygiene in schools, health centers and feeding centers.
- Identify all the essential Needs to Develop for schools and health and nutrition centers, related to sanitation and hygiene, to use the assurer and Maintenance of latrines to Maintain hygiene and hygienic practices Ensure good.
- To monitor the training of teachers and community workers health and nutrition through zaps and cisco and regional health structures concerning the use and adoption of IEC tools to promote to hygiene and improve sanitation in schools, health centers and feeding centers.
- Document the various good practices from WASH activities for various institutions (schools, health centers and feeding centers)
- Share and communicate these best practices to improve the daily habits in hygiene, work on scaling up and sustaining these good practices.
- To track software WASH activities for various institutions, including the distribution of water filters and installation of hand washing devices retraction of the classroom for each target school at the CSB and the level of target feeding centers and all IEC and other items with educational tools teachers and health officials;
- Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the SOFTWARE component including the star approach WASH in the various institutions (schools, CSB, Nutritional Centres) and analyze the reasons for the success or the failure to make recommendations through documentation of best practices.
- Collaborate with the University of Antananarivo in the implementation of the study Child Friendly Latrines
- Ensure the compilation of reports of activities of partners and participate in the drafting of the various reports of UNICEF in WASH field for institutions.
- Provide all --other tasks Relating to the implementation of WASH unspecified in this term of reference, selon felt the Needs of the section and UNICEF.
3. EXPECTED RESULTS
The main expected results are:
- Inventory of WASH actors in different institutions (schools, health centers and feeding centers) completed and updated,
- All essential Needs to be Developed in schools, health centers and nutrition related to APPROBATION WASH.
- Enhanced capacity of Teachers, health workers and nutrition concernant the use and adoption of IEC tools to Promote hygiene and sanitation in schools Improve, health centers and nutritional centers.
- Water filters and hand washing devices distributed in place and used in target schools.
- Good Documented and capitalized practice; information shared with all partners in the field of water, hygiene and sanitation in schools, health centers and nutrition centers and other sections of UNICEF.

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED MINIMUM.
- Master degree or equivalent from an accredited institution * in The Following Areas: Hydraulic Engineer, hygrologie or sanitary engineering, public health, sanitation and hygiene, and / or communications program an asset.
- A first university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with years of professional experience May Be accepted in lieu of a master's degree
- At least two years of professional experience within community in WASH field (CLTS, WASH in schools, water project, sanitation and hygiene) for Master holders and at least 5 years of professional experience under for holders of a first university degree.
- Work experience in international organization year of the United Nations Development or equivalent field experience are assets.
- Good analytical skills, communication skills, labor relations, results of research, strategy formulation and design, implementation of technical expertise, analytical, negotiation and advocacy, planning and organization, learning and research .dropoff window
- A field work experience is essential. Familiarity with emergencies is a plus.
- Excellent command of French and Malagasy, good working knowledge of English
- Mastery of computer tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet.
