1.TECHNICIAN I - AUTO MECHANICS ( 2 Positions tenable in Maun & Gaborone)

•Salary scale: Band 8 ( P133, 440 - P160,578)

1.1.Job Purpose 

To carry out maintenance and repair of automotive plant and vehicles including inspections, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, repair works, parts replacement and routine service and maintenance of both light and heavy duty vehicles, plant and equipment in accordance with approved standards, systems and procedures to ensure automotive plant serviceability and efficient Airport operations at all times.

1.2.Qualifications & Experience

•Full Technician Certificate / Diploma in Automotive Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution
•At least 5 years relevant post qualification experience as an auto technician for motor vehicle and heavy plant maintenance and repairs. 3 years of which should have been in the maintenance and repair of fire fighting vehicles.

1.3. Responsibilities

•Develop maintenance checklists
•Scheduled / preventive maintenance and routine vehicle service
•Troubleshooting and faults diagnosis
•Automotive plant repairs and parts replacement
