5.JUNIOR UNDERWRITER

5.1.Job Purpose

Do you seek pleasure from shifting through vast amounts of data? Do you play "spot the difference" weekly in the Sunday Newspaper? If you ddnt have to think about answering those questions, your could be our next underwriter!

5.2.Responsibilities / Duties

•Prepare rate quotations
•Analyse financial data
•Evaluate degree of financial risk
•Gather relevant financial data
•Identify financial risks to company
•Make inspections
•Review data on insurance applications or policies
•Maintain accurate and detailed records

5.3.Skills/Requirements

•Minimum Certificate of Proficiency (COP) - Short term Insurance from Insurance Institute of South Africa or Equivalent
•An undergraduate Diploma would be a plus
•At least 1 year experience in underwriting
•Knowledge of technical information
•Good interpersonal skills
•Good communicator
•Analytical and Numeracy skills
•Sound Judgement in determining potential underwriting skills
•Ability to meet deadlines
