1.APPLICATION SPECIALIST
•Department: IT, Innovation Department
•The post is tenable in Gaborone
1.1.Main purpose of the Job
To act as an Application Specialist or "Super User" with regards to testing, managing, certifying and supporting the country user base of the Lending software application.Provide First Tier (Level 1) resolution from a User perspective on application queries and User experience.To be the User champion of the application for country Users and to help BIGS ensure that the front-end usability of the application is optimised. To ensure users are adequately skilled and properly certified to use the software. Actively participate in application improvements and enhancements together with the Country Platform Manager and the BIGS team.
1.2.Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.2.1.Manage User experience:
•Test and experience the application from a User point of view
•Identify, recommend and address failures from a User’s point of view
•Act as a first Tier support to query handling from a User’s point of view
•Interact with international stakeholders on inefficiencies and efficiencies from the User’s experience
•Measure the desirability of the application and report on it
•Manage and report on software support SLA's
1.2.2.Query handling:
•Act as a first Tier query resolution contact
•Receive and manage escalations on system queries
1.2.3.Training of users
•Establish work aids for user functions on the system
•Develop training contents to equip users
•Facilitate training for the users
•Support changes where system upgrades are concerned
1.2.4.Manage permissions and certification:
•Establish a matrix on determining User permissions internationally
•Determine prerequisite requirements prior to granting permissions
•Investigate, develop and apply certification criterion
•Manage, maintain and report on the User certification process
•Manage User access from granting, limiting and revoking permissions as and when required.
1.2.5.Participate In Application Development & Testing
•Actively participate in the design, build and test phases of the application development process
•Contribute the User perspective in an Agile development structure
•Manage and report on the UAT phase
•Contribute and participate in the Release Management process and be responsible for the country software Release and deployment process

1.4.Position requirements
1.4.1.Qualifications:
•Diploma in Computer Science or BSc Information’s systems(highly advantageous)
1.4.2.Experience
•3+ years’ experience as a Super user, application specialist, UAT specialist or similar role.
•Financial Services and/or Insurance sector experience – highly advantageous
•Formal training or hands-on experience gained on current software tools such as Qlikview and SQL Server - advantageous
