We are building an Human Resources Officer Talent Pool that will be comprised of highly competent professionals who can play a key role in helping achieve zero hunger. All applicants will go through a comprehensive selection and assessment process to demonstrate their technical and organisational capabilities and the potential to grow and work across different field locations. Successful applicants will remain in the Talent Pool for 12 months, and can be considered for short or long-term international professional employment opportunities at entry and mid-management levels (P2 and P3), in Country Offices, Regional Bureaux and Headquarters.

The global context in which WFP operates is rapidly changing which means the need for effective people management is becoming important than ever before. HR plays a key role to support WFP in implementing its People Strategy successfully so we will continue to have a high performing and competent workforce to deliver the best outcomes for the people we serve.
Job Purpose
· P2 level: HR Officers at the P2 level operate with minimal supervision, and provide guidance to junior staff to ensure that operational and project objectives are achieved. As strategic business partners, HR Officers will deliver a professional, client-focused HR services, partnering with managers to implement HR solutions in line with WFP corporate priorities.
· P3 level: HR Officers at the P3 level manage a small team of staff to ensure strategies and plans are implemented across an assigned area. They work independently, using technical knowledge and expertise to analyse data, prepare reports, provide advice and solutions to problems, and identify opportunities for improvements. They develop core processes and procedures and manage the delivery of professional, client-focused HR services, partnering with senior managers to contribute to the implementation of HR solutions in line with WFP corporate priorities.
Qualification Requirements
Education:
· Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or other relevant field, or First University degree with two additional years of relevant work experience from the minimum experience requirement stated below.
Experience:
· P2 level: At least three years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in the relevant field.
· P3 level: At least five years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in the relevant field.

· Deep business acumen and strategic business viewpoint;
· Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills to influence and collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts across business functions, levels and geographical areas;

· Ability to demonstrate high personal impact and influence to build a trusted advisor relationship with business leaders;
· Solid understanding of HR procedures, principles and concepts.

Language:
· Fluency in oral and written English.
· Although intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is mandatory for fixed-term posts, for some roles exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
