The Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) invites applications from highly motivated and well experienced citizens of Botswana to fill the vacant post Chief Trainer – Centre for Public Administration and Management which exists at Botswana Public Service College (BPSC).The position is offered on a contract period of 24 months .
VACANCY: CHIEF TRAINER: Centre of Public Administration and Management; One (1) Post
SALARY: E2 (P306, 780 –P319, 164 per annum)
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
BENEFITS:
• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%)
• Gratuity payable at the rate of 25% upon expiry of contract.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Human Resource Management / Public Administration or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
At least fourteen (14) years relevant qualification experience, two (2) years of which must have been served at middle management or Principal Trainer level at D1 salary scale in Government or equivalent / comparative level in Parastatal or Private organisation.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To implement training and development strategies that provides Public Service Officers with relevant leadership skills and competencies as well as provide support and advice to the Head of Public Administration and Management on the Centre’s operations.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Assesses the impact of the programmes at Public Service level.
• Benchmarks and develops best practice programme delivery strategies.
• Coordinates the review of programme curricular and methods of delivery.
• Facilitates the development of course delivery methods and instructional material to meet programme participant’s varying needs , abilities and interests .
• Works with Trainers to plan specific programmes and interventions that addresses capacity gaps in the Public Service.
• Ensures that all ethical and academic standards are upheld.
• Monitors and coordinates programme uptake.
• Ensures the availability and proper use of both human and financial resources.
• Assesses personal knowledge, skills against job specific competencies to identify development needs and priorities.
• Models professionalism and exemplary behavior amongst staff.
• Identifies staff skills gap and determines relevant development programmes.
• Assists in marketing Public administration and management programmes locally and internationally.
• Undertakes any other related duties to as may be assigned by management .
