Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Project Officer (Anti-Corruption Unit), in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development.
SALARY: C1 (P123 168 – P147 180 per annum)
LEAVE: 30 Working Days Per Annum
BENEFITS:
i) Optional medical aid scheme with the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS - Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%)
ii) For new entrants to the Public Service, a contract of 24-36 months with gratuity payable at the rate of 25% upon the expiry of contract.
QUALIFICATION:
Applications should have a minimum Degree in Social Science, Business Management (Auditing/ Accounts) or Criminology.
EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years relevant experience in the anti- corruption field and/or a proven track record in related field in the Public Service of Botswana, two (2) of which should have been served at the level of C2.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To conduct preliminary investigation of corruption, fraud, and related crimes within the Ministry.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Provide information on corruption and economic crime to stakeholders.
• Advice management on good practices to eliminate corruption opportunities.
• Assist in the development of investigation strategies and tactics and procedures aimed at improving the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of the investigation.
• Participate in the operation of the investigation progress.
• Compile preliminary reports and case closure reports.
• Examines investigation reports, assesses evidence and advice management accordingly.
• Researches on laws of Botswana as well as international laws relating to corruption.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for planning purposes.
• Undertakes any other related duties as assigned by management.
