Botswana Life Insurance Limited is looking for Chief Finance Officer to fill the vacant post in their Botswana office.

Requirements

Botswana Life Insurance Limited (BLIL) is the oldest and largest Life Insurance Company in Botswana which underwrites all classes of life insurance products and boasts an estimated market share of over 75%. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited, which is listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange and is a member of the Sanlam Group Limited, BLIL seeks to recruit a success-driven professional with high integrity, strategic outlook and business focus for this pivotal role.

As a key member of the executive management team, reporting to the CEO, you will participate in the development of BLIL strategy and play a key role in the realisation of the company’s objectives. Functional responsibility will be to ensure sound financial control of the life insurance business in compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements and to manage and ensure effective premium administration. You will be; adept at more than just number crunching, able to add significant value at executive level, at ease thinking outside the box and highly competent in all finance matters such as management, reporting, control, budgeting, treasury and risk. In addition, you will have oversight of regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management and actuary. With a fairly large team looking to you for leadership you will be a highly competent people manager with well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.

To be considered for this top performing company and employer of choice you will need to possess a degree or professional finance or accounting qualification (FCCA, CFA, CIMA, CA, ACCA) and have broad financial and commercial experience (10 years’ post qualification with 6 years’ proficiency at senior management level) including managing statutory accounting and reporting, gained in a blue chip environment. Strategy, business planning and financial analysis exposure is essential.
