Duties and Resposibilities
- Responsible for installation, relocation and recovery of MV trailing cable Switching operations on 6.6kv breaker skids according to Safe Work Procedures. Inspection and repair of trailing cable, couplers and junction boxes. The senior Electrician will be required to ensure maximum uptime of electrical Machinery within the project area.
Qualifications and Requirements
- National Craft Certificate or equivalent qualifications Electrician
- 8 years' experience on open pit MV reticulation, Electric Shovels & Drills, Breaker and Transformer Skids
- Extensive knowledge on MV Switchgear, Switching and Isolation operations/procedures
- Physically and mentally fit
- Knowledge of earthling, protection and testing
- Knowledge of electrical standards
- Leadership and Coordination skills
- Decision making Skills
- Basic Excel and Word Processing Skills
- Proficiency in numeric skills
- A valid class b driver’s license
- Willing to work long hours while maintaining strict compliance with task specific work procedures
