VACANCY: PRINCIPAL DIETICIANII –D3

Applications are invited from all suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, Department of Clinical Services, tenable at Gantsi DHMT, Kgalagadi North DHMT (Hukuntsi) and Kgalagadi South (Tsabong).

SALARY: D3 (P207, 564-P229, 152) per annum

BENEFITS:

a) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50%, Employee 50%).
b) Contributory Pension Fund (Government pays 15%, Employee 5%).

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics
Applicants must be registered with Botswana Health Professions Council.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of eight (8) years’ work experience in a related area, of which two (2) years should have been served at D4 level in the Public Service or equivalent level in a Parastatal or Private Sector Organisation.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To coordinate dietetic internship and provide coverage to dietetic services.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1. Supervises and coordinates training and development of interns and junior officers.
2. Participates in the development of National Dietary Guidelines.
3. Undertakes quality improvement projects.
4. Coordinates medical nutritional product review, update and procurement.
5. Develops Hospital diet manual.
6. Undertakes operational and clinical research.
7. Participates in the formulation of nutrition policies and programs.
8. Provides medical nutrition therapy.
