Duties and Resposibilities
The role requires a highly capable individual with proven Collections expertise and compliance knowledge outlined below:
- To manage and control the arrears portfolios across the entire Personal and Business Banking arrears Book between 1 - 89 days past due.
- Maintain daily activity logs of number of calls, right party contacts, promises to pay and promises to pay kept.
- Operate within delegated authority levels and ensure subordinates have sufficient levels of mandate to perform their daily duties.
- Monitor and ensure the daily operational efficiencies of the Collections System(s)
- Compliance with statutory, regulatory, and supervisory requirements, to protect the reputation of the Group and avoid sanctions.
- Reporting any breaches and exposures to the business unit head and/or the divisions' Regulatory Compliance Officer
- Customer education
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least five (5) years' experience in a Credit control environment
- Advanced understanding of Credit Collections methodology
- In depth knowledge of the collection process in order to lead and control team.
- Sound knowledge of the Bank's leading products and relevant statutory legislation pertaining to the collection of arrears.
- A good understanding of the Bank's systems, policies and procedures in order to optimally draw on the available information to maximise the effectiveness of the team.
- Immediate branch network knowledge.
- Well-developed computer literacy and general Management Information skills especially Excel and Power Point
