VACANCY: PRINCIPAL DIETICIAN I–D2

Applications are invited from all suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, Department of Clinical Services, tenable at Lobatse DHMT, KGATLENG DHMT and Ngami DMHT.

SALARY: D2(P238, 668-P263, 508 per annum)

BENEFITS:

a) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50%, Employee 50%).
b) Contributory Pension Fund (Government pays 15%, Employee 5%).

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics

Applicants must be registered with Botswana Health Professions Council.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of six (6) years’ work experience in a relevant field, of which two (2) years should have been served at D3 level in the Public Service or equivalent level in a Parastatal or Private Sector Organization.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To coordinate clinical nutrition functions within an organization and continues to provide coverage to specialty units.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1. Coordinates Implementation of selected National Plan of Action for Nutrition Objectives/Strategy within the facility.
2. Coordinates development of standards of care for nutrition related conditions.
3. Coordinates and directs development of education resources.
4. Periodically reviews patient’s files to ensure maintenance of standards of dietetic practice.
5. Undertakes research (clinical and operational).
6. Continues to provide specialized services.
