ADVERTISEMENT: VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 41 OF 2014 – SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (INTERNAL)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Local Authorities employees for the above mentioned post tenable in North West District Council-Okavango Sub District Council.
SALARY: D4 (P165300- P182496) per annum.
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
BENEFITS: Contributory Pension Scheme (Govt pays 15% employee pays 5%).
Optional Medical Aid Scheme (Govt pays 50% employee pays 50%).
QUALIFICATION: Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Officer must have served for a minimum of six (6) years of work experience, and 2 years of satisfactory performance as Structural Engineer I.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• To supervise the design, construction and maintenance of roads to ensure that they done in accordance with set standards.
DUTIES
• Carries out assessment on existing buildings to determine their structural status and prescribe solutions.
• Supervises construction works for both Council and private developments to ensure adherence to structural aspects.
• Prepares structural technical specifications for construction of building projects.
• Undertakes any other related duty as directed by management.
