RE-ADVERTISEMENT: VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 34 OF 2014 – PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER I (EXTERNAL)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Batswana Citizens for the above mentioned post tenable in North West District Council (Headquarters).
SALARY: D2 (P218, 592- P241, 344) per annum
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
BENEFITS: Contributory Pension Scheme (Govt pays 15% employee pays 5%).
Optional Medical Aid Scheme (Govt pays 50% employee pays 50%).
40% of basic salary as scarce skill allowance
QUALIFICATION: Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (B. eng).
EXPERIENCE: Officer must have served for a minimum of 10 (ten) years of work. experience, and 2 years of satisfactory performance as Principal Mechanical Engineer II.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• To perform mechanical engineering works.
DUTIES
• Designs and develops cost effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and output.
• Develops a project specification in consultation with professionals from other engineering disciplines.
• Develops tests and evaluates designs from theoretical designs.
• Identifies operational problems in electro-mechanical equipment and recommends alternative mechanical engineering solutions.
• Manages mechanical engineering projects using engineering principles and techniques to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Plans and designs new production process in accordance with specifications.
• Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.
