The primary purpose of this role is to mitigate potential security risks and to protect the company’s assets from damage due to fire/ explosion and to provide comprehensive emergency services to Rössing Uranium Limited, In addition this role administers the company’s “Business Resilience and Recovery Programme (BRRP), ensuring a robust response and recovery is in place and regularly practised.
Key Performance Areas:
- Ensure that the Section complies with and adheres to all company HSE and Security policies, standards and directives.
- Drives long-term planning by defining sectional goals, objectives and strategies.
- Supervise and coordinate the investigation of criminal transgressions, or potential transgressions, using all legitimate means (information, police, security agencies, etc.) to identify and bring to justice the person(s) responsible.
- Directs security audits, surveys and risk assessments and ensures that there are appropriate, cost effective acceptable solutions to mitigate security risks.
- Commands the company’s fire and emergency services.
- Prepares emergency plans for specific risks, (Fire, Flood, Ammonia, Uranium Oxide, Sulphuric Acid), and ensures that all related support groups are trained on their specific actions.
- Documents and administers the company’s Business Resilience and Recovery Programme, facilitates all BRRP coordinating sectional meetings and oversee all related testing of the programme.
Minimum Requirements:
- B Degree or National Higher Diploma in Security & Risk Management from a recognized tertiary institution
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a security and/or risk management environment, of which two (2) should have been at a supervisory level.
- Level four (4) Certificate in Fire Science and Fire Safety (desirable)
- Experience in Forensic Investigations (Desirable)
- Code BE driver’s licence
