1.MEDICAL OFFICER (Infectious Diseases Clinical Research)
1.1.Job Purpose
The positions is based at Gaborone. The successful candidate will be expected to report for duty at 7:30AM - 4:30PM and weekend hours and evenning work depending on program needs. Essential Functions/ Job Duties include but not limited to the following:
•Day to day coordination of the Cryptococcus program
•Develop and maintain collaborations with Ministry of Health staff at Princess Marina Hospital and outreach sites
•Participate in the design and implemenation of plans to roll out the Cryptococcus guidelines at each site
•Perform accurate and complete physical examination in accourdance with established protocols for diagnosis.
•Provide holistic care of patients including consultation and referral for further management where necessary.
1.2.Qualifications and Experience
•Medical Degree
•Minimum 2 years experience, preferably of working on medical words. Interest in infectious diseases, neurology or clinical pharmacology.
•Candidate should be good at lumbar punctures and prior HIV medicine experience particularly experience with cryptococcal meningitis.
