Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana Citizens to fill the position of SENIOR MINERALS OFFICER (RESEARCH & FORECASTING), under the DEPARTMENT OF MINERALS AFFAIRS. The position is tenable in Gaborone.
Salary: D4 (P165, 300.00 – P182, 496.00 per annum)
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
Benefits: 1. Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme
(Government pays 50% and Employee pays 50%).
2. Compulsory Pension Fund Scheme for Permanent & Pensionable Appointments (Government pays 15% and Employee pays 5%).
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics/Statistics/
Experience: A minimum of four (4) years post qualification experience within the mining and minerals related industry focusing on research and forecasting or related field, with at least two (2) years of which should have been served at the level of C1 in the Public Service or entry management level in a Parastatal or Private sector.
Main Purpose of the Job: To supervise and assess the performance of mining and minerals development and carry out research for development of competitive minerals policies and strategies.

• To conduct research on minerals industries and market performance.
• Contributes to the development of models for monitoring market trends.
• Assists in the formulation, development and implementation of minerals programmes.
