VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 37 OF 2014- SENIOR ECONOMIST – D4 (INTERNAL)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Local Authorities employees for the above mentioned post tenable in North West District Council (Maun Administrative Authority).
SALARY: D4 (P165 300- P182 496 per annum.
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Economics or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of work experience and at least 2 years of satisfactory performance as Economist I (C1).
BENEFITS: Contributory pension scheme (Govt pays 15% and employee pays 5%)
Optional medical aid scheme (Govt pays 50% and employee pays 50%)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To conduct socio- economic surveys and analyze economic data to ensure informed decision making.
DUTIES
• Conducts socio-economic surveys and analysis with the objective of providing
recommendations for socio-economic policy reviews.
• Conducts feasibility studies to determine project viability and sets project priorities.
• Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with set standards.
• Identifies, prepares and evaluates development programs and projects.
• Prepares and consolidates physical and financial progress reports on development
projects.
• Collects data on proposed projects from various Departments and consolidates capital budget and recommends to supervisor.
• Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.
