ABOUT THE JOB:
Symbiotics SA is seeking a Private Equity - Senior Investment Manager. S/he will be responsible for joining a team of four or five experts with a focus on investing in MFIs in Sub-Saharan Africa and transforming them into leading sustainable banks.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Pipeline development, due diligence, and deal structuring during the investment period;
- On-going monitoring and value creation on outstanding transactions, particularly in regards to developing and executing exit strategies;
- Direct intervention (board seat, travel on-site) and indirect intervention (management contracts, technical assistance, capacity building) in portfolio companies.
Qualifications:
- Graduate education in Business and Finance;
- More than 7-10 years in capital markets and investment management;
- More than 5-7 years in traditional PE investments, including demonstrable history of exits and returns;
- Experience in investments in the financial/banking sector and also emerging/frontier markets (sub-Saharan Africa a plus);
- Highly motivated individual, with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills;
- Capacity to work both in team and independently, with high professionalism;
- Track record of hands-on value creation, business vision, and leadership;
- Willingness to travel frequently and potentially reside in Africa;
- English and French language skills;
