This role is an Executive position and reports to the Mine General Manager.

Job Summary
To provide strategic direction to the Engineering department, manage, co-ordinate, control and/or give legal advice on all the engineering related activities across the Mine, ensuring the effective use of resources in the achievement of departmental objectives and provide technical guidance to other departments.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Control & Instrumentation)
• 15 years post qualifi cation experience in heavy mining environment, 8 of which should have been at Engineering Management level
• Registration with Botswana Engineers Registration Board (grace period applies)
• Management Development Program or equivalent

• Deliver plant and mobile equipment performance (reliability, availability and per unit cost) to meet business objectives
• Ensure legal and statutory compliance
• Directs the initiation, planning and execution of projects, stay in business and greenfi eld
• Plans and coordinates the execution of short/ medium term strategy
• Ensure sustainable supply of utilities (water & electricity) to the mine
• Responsible for and manages the overall departmental safety, health and environmental program in line with the operational strategy and objectives
• Identify and mitigate business risks

• Build people capacity and capability to ensure individuals and teams achieve their objectives
