General Responsibilities:
ROLE PURPOSE:
The role is accountable for the identification and development of new partners in line with our business strategy as well as the account and relationship management of existing Agents. The post-holder will take responsibility for the development of business opportunities throughout the designated region, ensuring increased expansion and promotion of the MoneyGram brand and service as well as mutual satisfaction and success for both parties.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Carry out market research and customer/country analysis to determine the business development strategy for the region.
- Identify and maximise business opportunities/new network prospects of mutual benefit to MoneyGram and potential or existing Agents.
- With line manager approval, identify and facilitate the addition of new Agents, appropriate to the strategy on appropriate commercial terms in line with the market/corporate guidelines.
- Develop, implement and achieve business plans and budgets for specific Agents/parts of the region, in conjunction with line manager and relevant parties in head office.
- Account management of Agents - identify relationship needs and develop/co-ordinate effective solutions, working with the other key personnel across the region and in head office. Act as the key central contact point and/or project manager for new initiatives.
- Work closely with the other departments (e.g. Operations, Legal, Compliance) to guarantee a smooth transition from approval process to implementation and operational start-up of each new Agent site and in connection to special projects.
- Work with the Agents and the regional marketing team to devise, implement and assess the success of regional and in-market marketing initiatives and their impact on transactions' growth and development.
- With regional marketing team, ensure that the Agent supports and complies with agreed marketing campaigns and that all materials are produced and distributed to agreed specifications and in line with budgets set.
- Ensure Agents' full compliance with MoneyGram’s and local regulators' Anti-Money Laundering procedures. Seek guidance from London-based Legal team, assisted by line manager as appropriate.
- Prepare monthly performance reports for each designated country along with any other presentations, statistics, reports for existing agents, new business prospects as may be required by senior management/RD/regulatory agencies.
- Assist in the organisation and participation of exhibitions, fairs and other community events throughout the year as required.
- Work closely with US teams to ensure Agent settlement.
- Other ad hoc duties as required by the business.
- Territory: South East Africa.
- Good standard of education.
- Region/Department: Anglophone Africa & Middle East.
- Office/Base: Johannesburg.
- Reports to: Regional Director, South East Africa.
- Will interact closely with designated Agents at branch and head office level throughout the region and with regional and London-based EMEAAP teams.
- Territory designation may be subject to change dependant on the needs of the business.
- Extensive travel.
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is essential.
- Some flexibility with regard to working hours will be required.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree educated.
- Proven track record in an account/sales management and/or business development role gained at a similar level of seniority. Some experience gained internationally and/or within a retail financial/payment services environment would be highly advantageous. Previous work experience within designated region is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level, to include experience of writing comprehensive and robust business cases and business plans. Will have previous budgetary management experience.
- Commercial acumen – able to work with key business partners to maximise business capacity for all parties.
- Strong presentation (written and verbal) and negotiating skills – able to influence and persuade in decision-making processes both internally and externally.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills – proven experience of managing multiple priorities on a regional and/or national basis, in a pressurised environment. Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Excellent problem solving skills – able to effectively and proactively work to identify key issues, route cause(s) and identify appropriate solutions and/or facilitate resolution through working with the relevant parties.
- Good technical understanding – able to converse effectively with technical and non-technical parties alike. Able to present information and or train on technical/product areas as required. Experience of coordinating software / technology roll outs would be highly advantageous.
- Able to work with minimum supervision and to make effective and appropriate decisions independently of others and also work as a part of a team.
- Demonstrates high levels of energy, self-motivated and enthusiastic – prepared to go the extra mile.
- Able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment whilst remaining calm and professional.

- Computer literate - able to use Microsoft suite of packages and operating systems.
