| GE Africa’s Operational Controllership Team has oversight of Operational Controllership in the region, across 40+ diverse countries. The team is responsible for supporting GE businesses in the region in regional risk assessment and risk mitigation, simplification, talent & people development and above all for regional compliance. The GE Africa Ops Controllership Team also owns the regional external audit relationship and the roll-out of Global Controllership initiatives. | |
| -Partner with Corporate Audit Staff & the businesses operating in SSA to keep current the risk landscape of the region, partnering with the business and country controllers to understand the key regional risks and challenges and to develop projects to address these. -On-going Controllership of the Compliance, Statutory & Tax Filing Processes across SSA -Coordinate project execution between Tax, Global Operations Finance (shared services organization) & business leaders at country & regional level for projects assigned by the GE Africa Ops Controller -Lead the implementation of the 8 Enterprise Standards from a Controllership perspective; these Standards define the standardized processes, people and tools required for the management of 8 key compliance/operational processes. -Transition the “outlier” legal or management entities into processes / tools that provide appropriate levels of regional Controllership coverage (especially important for recently acquired entities). -Support IFRS implementation in the region where appropriate, ensuring engagement from all businesses. -Ensure that GE is applying IFRS consistently across the businesses and in-line with Global strategy. -Partner with the GE Africa Ops Controller to develop process in SSA, ensuring best practice sharing and consistency checks across all 12 GGO regions. -Drive simplification initiatives in the Region -Participate in regular tollgate reviews with the various SSA project teams where key projects are in place. -Report progress on projects and provide inputs into key Controllership dashboards for presentation to GE Africa CFO, Ops Controller & others. -Work with HR, training & other Finance organizations to recruit, develop, retain & mentor Controllership talent in Africa for Africa. -Support the organisation of Regional controllership conferences. -Provide project and other updates at regional Controllership conferences | |
| •MA/MSc degree in Finance or Equivalent or MBA •7+ years’ experience in Finance, preferably Controllership, Audit or similar function •Passion for risk management •Experience identifying and recommending process improvements •Experience leading and managing regional / global / international projects (coordination, communication with senior leaders, etc.) •Influencing Skills – Ability to read stakeholders and influence across businesses and functions | |
