Mexican Government is offering excellence scholarship program for foreign students. Scholarships are available for special programs (Visiting Professors, High-level Conferences, Genaro Estrada Scholarship for Specialists in Mexican Studies, Artist Residencies, Media Residencies and Improving the Quality of Mexican Secondary and Higher Education Institutions) at Mexican host institutes. The scholarships are not transferable and cannot be deferred to future years. Two people cannot be awarded a scholarship for the same project. The Academic Exchange Office will arrange for and purchase the international airfare. If the applicant or the host institution purchases the ticket directly, they will not be reimbursed. The application deadline is August 29, 2014.
Study Subject (s): Visiting Professors program is available to give special lectures, courses, workshops, seminars, etc. in Mexican universities or research centers. High-level Conferences is available give the high-level conference, Genaro Estrada Scholarship is awarded in Mexican Studies, Artist Residencies is available in the field of artistic work, Media Residencies is available to media professionals (print or electronic) who are interested in writing articles and reports and conducting interviews in Mexico and Improving the Quality of Mexican Secondary and Higher Education Institutions to applicant who is expert in the topic of the conference, course, workshop or exchange of experiences and best practices in internationalization.

Media Residencies: Media professionals who are currently working in their field
Improving the Quality of Mexican Secondary and Higher Education Institutions: Must be an expert in the topic of the conference, course, workshop or exchange of experiences and best practices in internationalization.

What does it cover? The Academic Exchange Office will arrange for and purchase the international airfare. If the applicant or the host institution purchases the ticket directly, they will not be reimbursed. If the applicant cancels his/her trip after the Foreign Ministry has purchased the plane ticket, he/she or the institution that nominated the applicant will be asked to reimburse the Foreign Ministry.
Visiting Professors: The Mexican institution can offer the specialist financing in addition to that offered by the Foreign Ministry, if so required. Foreign Ministry will provides

-Round-trip international transportation
-Transportation Mexico City – host institution – Mexico City if outside of the capital

-Transportation from Mexico City – conference location – Mexico City if the conference takes place outside of the capital.
Genaro Estrada Scholarship for Specialists in Mexican Studies:
-Monthly stipend of $10,093.50 Mexican pesos (equivalent to US$747.69)
-Round-trip international airfare
-Round trip transportation from Mexico City to the site of the grant and back
-Any additional travel within Mexico needed to carry out any sort of activity must be paid for by the grantee.
-IMSS health insurance beginning in the third month of the grant

-Monthly stipend of $10,093.50 Mexican pesos (equivalent to US$744.91)

Notification: Applicants will be informed of the results in writing by the corresponding Mexican embassy or the Mexican host institution. The files of any unsuccessful applicants will not be returned.
How to Apply: All scholarship applications must be submitted to the Mexican or concurrent embassy of the applicant’s country or to the Mexican host institute. Applications will not be accepted directly from the applicants. Applications sent by fax or email will not be accepted. Only applications accompanied by all of the required documentation will be accepted. Original documents will not be accepted (only the medical certificate should be the original copy).
