Global Workshop Manager
The role
The Global Rebuild Workshop Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective running of the Global Rebuild Workshop, associated with rebuilding of the Underground LH208 Recall project. Through the management of human resource, facilities, processes and planning, the Manager is to ensure that the workshop provides a cost effective rebuild service as well as a high-quality, whilst achieving or exceeding all relevant EHS standards. Furthermore, the Manager is expected to participate where necessary in the establishment of costing and recovery on non-warranty costs. The Workshop Manager will carry the 16(2) appointment in term of the OHS Act.
Job Purpose:
- The on-time, on-quality and on-cost delivery of rebuilt machines to the designated market.
- Ongoing review and optimization of workshop resources to ensure sustainable competitive advantage for the service provided and workshop capacity to match growth requirements.
- The implementation and administration of business systems to manage the WiP and sub-contracting ofmachine rebuilds as required.
- Provide assistance to Business Development and Business Units including Southern African Region in providing costing updates and project plans.
- Preparation and submittal of quotes when required
- Responsible for the achievement and maintenance of class-leading quality, environmental, health and safety process and standards and provide leadership as well as discipline, when required, in order to achieve the goals.
- Skills development, performance management, succession planning, staff retention.
- Manage departments Business result areas, A&S, Wip, inventory costs
Your profile
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the management of a jobbing workshop (as opposed to a line production facility) involving heavy mining machinery.
- Must have a very good understanding of Project Management Principles
- Above experience must include responsibility for workshop production performance and the management of people and assets - not just technical input.
- Must be familiar with legal liabilities, factories and mining acts
- Prior experience in agreements in the Mining Industry relating to Capital Equipment Supply, Parts Supply, Rocktools Supply and Machine Service/Maintenance Agreements is required.
- Technical qualification minimum of a trade
- Recognized qualification in quality systems
- CPMD
- Valid driver's license
