Project Implementation Manager - Heavy Load & Out of Gauge

Our Client- A global leader in Logistics and Freight Forwarding is currently recruiting for a Project Implementation Manager specialising in Heavy Load and Out of Gauge to be based in their Johannesburg office. This role will involve extensive project related travel into Africa.

Job Description- The primary function is the Implementation of Logistics Projects activities for all the Organisations entities in Africa, ie:

• To make sure that the projects are implemented smoothly, in compliance with:
• Company contractual commitments and customers' expectations
• The Logistics Projects policy and goals.
• To guarantee that the challenges involved are understood and properly taken into account

Other functions shall be project-related activities as circumstances may demand:

• Feasibility studies, initial studies as logical
• Projects development
• Tender responses
   

Responsibilities of this position include;

• Leading training and implementations for small to large scale projects.
• This position requires excellent organization and communication skills in order to be able to coordinate numerous stakeholders at levels (development, sales, marketing, operations, Q-HSE, HR, IT, Finance, …).
• This candidate must be a self-starter, who is able to work in a fast paced dynamic environment.
• They must possess initiative to produce improvement initiatives in all the areas of the scope of work.
   

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Working in close relationship with the corresponding HQ Project Implementation Manager, the Project Implementation Manager is responsible for:
• Making sure that the projects are implemented in compliance with the existing methodology and quality process;
• Driving the projects from the signature stage to the actual commencement of service;
• Driving the implementation of every aspect of the project, such as but not limited to:
• HR
• Equipment
• IT
• Standard Operating Procedures
• Actual service
• Planning and matching the deadlines for each step of the implementation;
• Issuing progress reports as requested;
• Providing ad-hoc support to the Projects in general as necessary (see 7. Scope): due to the nature of the envisaged workload the company requires the candidate to be flexible within his/her own sphere of competence.
   

Candidate Requirements-

• Minimum of 7 years' experience successfully managing various HLOOG projects.          
• Q-HSE minded.
• An outstanding grasp of Project's processes.
• A comprehensive grasp of Heavy Load & out of Gauge equipments, including technical knowledge.
• Demonstrated aptitude for effective leadership of staff in multicultural environment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bilingual: French and English.
