LEAVE: 30 Working Days Per Annum

BENEFITS:
• Payment of gratuity at the rate of 25% upon the expiry of contract.
• Commuted overtime allowance at 30% of basic salary.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Applicants should have a minimum of Diploma in General Nursing or a Bachelors Degree in Nursing Science or its equivalent from recognised Institutions; complemented by four (4) years relevant experience in nursing or relevant field, two (2) years of which should have been served at the level of C2 salary scale as Nursing Officer II or its equivalent.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To provide nursing services to the School Community.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Assesses health status of patients to identify needs.
• Applies life saving measures in the area of operation and to escorted patients.
• Provides life saving measures during transportation of patients to areas of specialised care or higher level for patient safety.
• Dresses wounds and removes sutures through application of aseptic technique.
• Dispenses prescribed drugs to clients/patients and give instructions on the use.
• Administers patients’ treatment as prescribed by doctors and other health care professionals.
• Provides counselling services to clients/patients on their conditions to help them deal with their illness and situation.
• Administers prescribed oral and injectable medications to patients observing set standards.
• Manages storage and administration of habit forming drugs.
• Orders drugs and non-drug supplies.
