REGIONAL COORDINATOR
The Child Rights Network of Southern Africa (CRNSA) is a regional network of national child rights networks actively involved in the advocacy for the promotion, dissemination, protection and effective realization of child rights and welfare in Southern Africa.CRNSA works to advocate for a stable environment for the child, to provide a unified voice on which to advocate and campaign for child friendly policies, standards and practices that fulfill the dignity and personal development of all children.
Job Purpose:
To provide overall management and general administration of all matters pertaining to CRNSA and to facilitate the realization of the CRNSA specific strategic objectives in line with the CRNSA strategic plan.
Location: Gaborone, Botswana.
Core requirements:
- A postgraduate degree preferably in Social Science or a related subject at a minimum of masters’ level, with at least 5 progressive experiences in management of projects in an NGO environment.
- Demonstrate a strong acumen in programmes management, monitoring and evaluation.
- Hands-on experience in implementing advocacy strategies for the protection and promotion of child rights and familiarity of the rights and development needs of children.
- Proven track record of building positive effective partnerships and strategic alliances.
- A self-starter, ability to work independently and manage complex situations and activities.
- Strong team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with variety of stakeholders and professionals.
- Ability to facilitate the development and preparation of winning fundable proposals.
- Knowledge and understanding of the normative content and implementation procedures of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
- Excellent writing skills essential.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the secretariat in facilitating the realization of the CRNSA specific strategic objectives in line with the CRNSA strategic plan.
- Lead in the dissemination of CRNSA values, vision and mission at the national, regional and international level.
- Promote CRNSA identity to CRNSA members’ national, regional and international stakeholders and ensure CRNSA remains relevant to the realization of children’s rights in Southern Africa.
- Create and manage CRNSA membership data base and facilitate capture and maintenance of data base of the situation of children in CRNSA member countries.
- Facilitate CNRSA programme designs, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure CRNSA secretariat office adheres to national laws and regulations of the government of Botswana.
- Spearhead resource mobilisation and ensure prudence in resource management.
- Ensuring that the secretariat functions as a strong and mutually supporting arm of the Executive Committee of CRNSA.
