The Attorney General’s Chambers is an extra Ministerial Department under the Ministry of Justice Defense and Security. It exists to prosecute all criminal cases at the public instance; prosecute, defend or settle civil cases on behalf of government, draft legislation; produce law reports; negotiate and draft commercial and international agreements and provide sound legal advice to government.
The Attorney General’s Chambers invites applications from suitably qualified citizens for the following positions:
Division: DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC PROSECUTIONS

Main purpose of the job:
To prosecute selected criminal matters in magistrates courts of the Republic of Botswana.
Qualification:
•DIPLOMA IN LAW (University of Botswana only)
•NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (This is a direct entry post)

Salary scale: C3/4 (P64, 632.00-P95, 748.00) per annum, plus 25% of basic salary as scarce skill allowance
Leave: 25 working days per annum
Benefits: Optional contributory medical aid scheme with 50% from government and 50% from employee. Contributory pension scheme (government pays 15%, employee 5%)
