1. Description of Post: Consular Clerk
Requirement:

Responsibilities
-Provide information about immigration laws, policies and procedures, process documentation.
-Does office administration
-Dealing with South African citizens abroad
-Knowledge, skill and understanding of all phases of the job and closely related matters.
-Making clients and their needs a primary focus of work and auctions.This includes clients that are both internal and external to the public service.

2. Information Clerk
Applications are invited to submit their Curriculum Vitae for the position of Information Clerk in the South African High Commission, Gaborone.
Main Purpose:
-Administration of information services and monitoring of local information services for the political section.

Qualification:

Required Skills and Competencies
monitoring of local information services such as newspaper and other media:
-research and collection of data and prepares synopsis for mission reports
-circulates press clippins and articles, maintans and updates filing system of same in the Mission’s Library
-Contacts local newspapers, television and radio stations to arrange publication of South African news reports and press releases when requested

-Proficiency in English and Setswana
-Provides secretarial, administrative and logical support to the political section

-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Good time management skills (prioritizing skills)
-Adhere to Mission operational and security requirements
-Make and record appointments, prepare agendas or programs for meetings
-Take minutes of meetings both in the office and other locations when requested.
-maintain and update a database of contacts of the political section
-Must have a valid driver’s licence.
