Business Development Manager WesBank - Business
Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Head-WesBank Business. The purpose of the role is to provide asset based financial solutions to meet customer’s needs, building and enhancing relationship with customers and dealers to ensure targets set by the business are met or exceeded, and grow commercial portfolios. Deliver outstanding customer service to dealers and customers

Requirements
Key Functions of the portfolio:
- Active marketing of the Banks products and services to clients particularly WesBank products.
- Establish, build and maintain relationships with potential and existing WesBank clients, dealers and suppliers to enhance service delivery and quick turnaround times.
- Responsible for retaining clients, cross-sell, up sell and new business acquisitions.
- Be able to do a client`s needs assessment. (Develop an in depth knowledge of the client’s business and an understanding of competitor activity).
- Ability to sell a business case to credit for approval.
Qualifications and experience:
- Business Degree or Equivalent
- Certificate of Proficiency (short and/or long)
- Diploma in Banking would be an added advantage
- Credit Management skills and experience of minimum
- 5 years, including in depth knowledge of bank’s financial products is essential.
- Extensive and broad lending (practical and technical banking) experience is required with a sound knowledge of corporate finance, company salvage, risk and human resources management.
- Good understanding of business strategy is also required.
Proven Skills and competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of the Bank’s Credit Policy.
- Good Knowledge of Financial statement analysis
- Working knowledge of implementing new processes and systems would be an advantage
- Excellent Marketing Skills
- Leadership Skills and ability to coach and mentor subordinates
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written)
- Ability to work under pressure
