Mupane Gold Mining invites applications for the following positions:-

ADVERTISEMENT - MINING MANAGER

Reporting to the General Manager, the candidate should have a BSc in Mining Engineering and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in an underground gold mining environment, at least 3 years should have been spent in a senior / managerial role.

Requirements

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Manage Surface and Underground mining operations in compliance with Mupane Gold Mining Standards and the Botswana Mine, Quarries, Works and Machinery Regulations Act.
• Ensure that safety, production and cost targets are achieved within the agreed financial budget and within the operational standards.
• Liasing and management of mining contractors regarding the grade and tonnage requirements.
• Constantly reviewing the most appropriate mining methods and equipment.
• Effective coordinating mining operations, mine planning, mine survey, mobile equipment maintenance and mine geology functions.
• Monitoring actual performance against targets and taking corrective action to maintain targets.
• Provide progressive development of underground mining operations through:
• Keeping up to date with new developments in techniques and data processing
• Reviewing and implementing new techniques and procedures that will streamline the process.
• Submission of proposals for more effective and efficient underground mining procedures and methods.

Successful candidate should have a comprehensive knowledge of the Mines, works and Machinery regulations in Botswana and should have a Botswana Underground Blasting License or in a better position to obtain one. We will only consider candidates who are eligible to carry a 6.1 appointment.

The successful candidate should have a traceable record of providing electrical and instrument maintenance in large industrial plants.

Mupane Gold Mining (Pty) Ltd (MGM) is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Canadian TSX Venture exchange listed company GALANE GOLD LTD, a gold producer and explorer with its operations in the Republic of Botswana.

The Mupane gold mine is located approximately 50 kilometres by road from Francistown in north eastern Botswana. In continuous operation since 2005, MGM has recently increased the operational life of mine and exploration activities are on-going to determine if there are further opportunities to develop additional resources.
