Duties and Resposibilities
Financial Management
Plans, organises, manages and coordinates the development and implementation of a robust accounting and financial management process to ensure the accurate recording of transactions, the preparation of timely and accurate accounts and protection of Union's assets including:
1. Consolidates the Union's budgets and assists in presentation to NEC for approval;
2. Liaises with Accounting General and other employer payroll agencies on receipt of members' subscriptions and other payments to the Union and ensures correct allocations of revenue.
3. Ensure the presentation of timely monthly management accounts to facilitate the management of the Union's funds.
4. Prepares final books of accounts and liaises with auditors on audit queries.
5. Puts into place appropriate mechanisms for management of surplus funds to ensure optimal return on surplus funds.
6. Manages Union's bank accounts in accordance with laid down procedures.
Informal knowledge of office administration functions would be an added advantage.
