Overview of role
Reporting to the Financial Services Manager, the candidate will assist in the day to day activities of finance related transactions in order to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
Job description
- Financial Accounting - reconcile financial data between or among financial reports such as general ledger, subsidiary ledger, customers' or subsidiary’s' records, suppliers' contractors' statement of account
- Payroll Administration - perform the full transaction of capturing an employee into system; perform all relevant transactions related to the administration cycle. Possess basic understanding of tax in the context of payroll
- Customer Focus - resolve queries and issues for internal and external clients in defined interactions
- Financial Management - Develop and manage a small budget (cost or revenue) to ensure execution of goals. Interpret financial statements and understand the relationship between certain elements like revenue, profit, cost, loss, cash-flow, debt, etc. Indentify errors or gaps in financial information. Understand financial risks and exposure, fiduciary requirements and reporting standards. Understand the accounting cycle and one or two key financial processes like Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, Audit, Treasury, General Ledger etc.
- Financial Systems - operate all modules of Oracle/ SAP/ Pastel or company specific Financial System using advanced features
- Billing and Collection - monitor outstanding billings, generate statements, provide status of client, enforce client agreements
Requirements, Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 3 years' post qualification experience in an accounting environment
- Possess excellent numerical skills, analytical and be a good problem solver
