INDIAN COUNCIL FOR CULTURAL RELATIONS (ICCR) SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014-2015

The Ministry of Education & Skills Development invites applicants from qualified citizens of Botswana for seventeen (17) scholarships - twelve(12) undergraduate and five (5) postgraduate ICCRS slots for various academic disciplines under the Africa Scholarship Scheme for the 2014-2015 academic years. The scholarship slots are for students from Botswana to pursue non- medical undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees leading to PhDs at various Indian universities. All accepted candidates will receive living allowance, contingent grant, house renting allowance in case the hostel facility is not available, tuition fee and other compulsory fee.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of Botswana
• Minimum of 46 points (BGCSE or equivalent)
• Have school subjects in accordance with the chosen specialty

Engineering/Technical Programme
-Mathematics
-Physics
-Chemistry

• Be 25 years or below
• Have completed Secondary General Education (BGCSE or Equivalent) not more than 2 years prior to this application
• Completed BSc Part 1 with CGPA of 3.5 or better (attach academic transcript)
• A Levels 3 subjects with a minimum of C

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED

• Application stating one (1) preferred programme of study from the stated fields of study: Building and Construction, Health, Engineering /Technical, Agriculture and Performing Arts and also include contact details e.g. cell phone and telephone. • 1 additional coloured passport size photo- The name should be written on the photograph for purpose of identification
• Copy of the passport (Validity of passport should be more than 2 years)
• Certified copy of school certificate / result slip /official transcript
• Original copy of Medical Certificate
• Copy of birth certificate
• Recommendations/References (at least two)
• Study plan (no less than 200 words)

POSTGRADUATES

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of Botswana
• Have 1st class/ minimum of 80% or equivalent
• Serving Officers must route their applications through heads of their Departments/Divisions
• Students applying for doctoral/ postdoctoral courses should include a synopsis of the proposed area of research
