SALARY: B4 salary scale (P 30, 312- P36, 048) per annum)
LEAVE: 20 Working days per annum.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be in possession of Primary School Leaving Certificate and in possession of Botswana Licences class “B” “C” and “D” for trucks and buses respectively.
EXPERIENCE:
Candidates must have at least two years satisfactory service at Driver III, B5 scale or equivalent level in parastatals or private organisations.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Drives Government vehicles, taking particular care of the National Road Safety Code and undertakes routine maintenance of vehicles in the Ministry.
DUTIES:
1. Drives Officers in the Ministry.
2. Drives heavy-duty vehicles exceeding 3500 kg maximum weight (for non-. articulated vehicles) up to 16000kg maximum weight including trailer.
3. Performs routine vehicle maintenance, which includes
3.1. removal and fitment of tyres,
3.2. Washing of vehicles and ensuring that it is kept clean.
3.3. Ensuring that tyres are inflated to the correct pressure.
4. Performs pre-trip inspection and ensures that the vehicle they are assigned is road-worthy.
5. Cleans vehicle-parking areas.
6. Ensures the proper loading of authorized loads, the security and safety of loads being carried and the safe unloading of their vehicle at destinations.
7. Ensure that all trips undertaken are authorised and entered in the Vehicle Logbooks.
8. Report any accident to the nearest police station and to supervising officers.
9. Undertaking any other related duties as required meeting the exigencies of the service.
