Summary: The Hub Leader for indirect sourcing needs to demonstrate leadership qualities, in communicating business goals, programs and process with different stakeholders within GE. In this role you will use your experience and expertise to understand, develop and implement strategies to support various businesses in the region. Also support the commodity leaders and lead a team of buyers to fulfil all the sourcing activities. | |
Role Objectives • To develop, manage and execute the indirect sourcing strategy in Angola. • To identify and maximize cost saving through tactical and strategic sourcing initiatives in support of GE production facilities, sales teams and other GE business sectors • Hub level supplier and contract, policies, processes and standards performance evaluation and improvement on a local level. • Strategies and support localization. • Vendor management and supplier development Components of Commodity Management • Process, policy and enterprise standards interpretation and implementation • Operations and cross functional management • Inventory Management • Relationship management (internal & external) • Crisis management • Financial Planning, and decision making • Market Research & intelligence • Report management • Cost Management via negotiations • End user feedback management Key Deliverables • Lead the local sourcing team to provide indirect requirements to end-users in the various GE businesses • Work to manage hub spend and determine opportunities for cost reduction • Advise on local supplier network capabilities, commodity/ spend category trends and industry best practices • Assist in establishing sources for new markets, products, services and technologies as local business requirements dictate • Take the lead in developing, communicating and implementing global/regional commodity and sourcing strategies locally to achieve corporate business objectives • Develop and implement an efficient system for monitoring buyer's activities – turnaround time, customer service etc. • Build strong, value-adding relationships with GCLs, suppliers, internal customers and cross-functional departments. • Monitor supplier performance against contracted MSAs and SLAs and advise affected GCLs; monitor active/inactive MSAs • Monitor sourcing category reporting to identify non-compliant purchases and partner with relevant business units to educate and raise awareness on appropriate, compliant process(es) for purchasing needed goods/services • Manage directly or assist in managing sourcing projects • Organize trainings for buyers, expeditors and other team members to address skill gaps • Work collaboratively and proactively with GCLs and other cross-functional teams to identify process, sourcing and contract improvement opportunities. | |
Qualifications/Requirements • Master's degree from accredited University in a Supply Chain/ Logistics/Business Administration field preferred or Bachelors of Engineering Degree ( 4 years) • 7-10 years of sourcing experience out of which, a min 5 years should be in Angola • Should have experience of Oil & Gas operations • Demonstrate Managerial qualities • Knowledge of Infrastructure development sector in Angola a significant plus and understanding of infrastructure requirements in the region highly beneficial. • Ability to lead teams virtually – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams • Ability to resolve complex issues within area. Ability to develop and execute multiple priorities and approaches to meet objectives. Proven ability to effectively communicate across a distributed workforce • Demonstrated executive level relationship building. Special Skills required • Exceptional leadership skills, critical & creative thinker with high-level negotiation skills. | |
