Directorate of Information and Communications Technology (REF: ICT 01/16)

To provide management information and advice to the University Community on the adoption of IT standards, strategies and policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related are, preferably with emphasis on Educational Management Systems.

- A Masters Degree will be an added advantage. Membership of an association or professional organization in the IT area is essential.

- Eight (8) years experience in Information Technology at a senior management level in a large organization, preferably in an academic/tertiary education environment.

-High level conceptual and analytic ability

- Proven technical ability to drive ICT in a large and complex environment, preferably within a higher education or related environment.

- Ability to value and apply intellectual processes within a well-defined coherent framework.

- High level of financial astuteness and commercial competence demonstrated through successful management of substantial budgetary responsibilities.

- Willingness to take challenges of a new university and to manage effectively through its developmental phases, with clear understanding of ICT issues within an academic environment

- Excellent entrepreneurial skills including understanding of social, economic, financial and political implications on decisions made.

- Creativity, innovativeness and personal commitment to excellence, sound communication skills and ability to demonstrate clear effective two-way communication style with a wide range of people and situations.

- Proven ability to lead and develop a cohesive and effective team to achieve optimal results and a commitment to employee development and effective leadership.

- Consultative and inclusive management style.

- Must demonstrate personal commitment to excellence.
