To ensure that the Authority operates within the confines of the law at all times, offer counsel on legal issues, create an effective guardian of the organization and facilitate business strategy development. Further to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure so as to facilitate CAAB’s achievement of strategic goals and objectives.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Law from a recognized University and admission to practice in the Courts of Botswana is required. Membership in good standing of the Botswana Law Society is essential.
Experience:
At least eight (8) years post qualification working experience in a legal department of a reputable large public/ private organisation. Familiarity with International Law and Aviation issues is desirable. Proven experience as a legal counsel in a business environment shall be an added advantage.

- Effective management of legal and contractual risks
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory framework, policies and procedures
- Quality legal advice resulting in minimal successful challenges against the Authority
- Effective enforcement of aviation regulations with decisive follow up, investigations and intervention
- Advise the Authority, Management and staff on legal matters and other ancillary matters from line Directorates
- Protection of the rights and interests of the Authority
- Promotion of compliance, good corporate governance principles and business practices
