A subsidiary of an international group of companies operating in the logistics and transport space is seeking exceptional finance staff.This is a multi-skilled profile of two positions responsible for the planning, organising and management of major financial functional areas to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of accounts and financial statements in accordance with the group financial practices and standards, company policies, procedures and financial schedules. The right person will be highly self-motivated, self-driven and possess a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
Job description
We are looking for a hard working candidate that has good leadership skills and experience managing a team in the finance department as this role will have subordinates. The role will involve handling all creditors’ queries, checking creditor’s payments and recons, intercompany reports, month end duties, VAT returns, monthly payroll reconciliations and balance sheet schedules.
The role requires someone that is a strong all-rounder with excellent multi-tasking abilities; you would have managed a team before and have at least 6 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in a multi-national company working on tax internationally (South Africa) would be an added advantage, as would experience in a transport or logistics company. A qualification in finance or accounting is essential.
Position requires the following personal attributes:
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft office, most importantly advanced Excel knowledge
- Financial and non-financial analytical skills
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards
- Knowledge of corporate governance practices in Botswana
- Organizational skills and ability to work in a high pressured environment with dotted reporting lines
Requirements, Education and Experience
- A BCom Degree in Finance coupled with 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the logistics or transport industry will be advantageous to your success in the role.
