Job Summary
To co-ordinate the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring and maintenance of the Information Management infrastructure environment. It also includes working with Vendors to achieve the above activities.

Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in IT or related discipline - 3 years IT operations experience
- Recognised IT Industry Certification - 6 years proven IT experience
Key Activities
- Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters.
- Provides an effective User Support and Help Desk functions by Interfacing with users and service providers, including external commercial suppliers where possible.
- Provides an integrated information management, technology and business support service to clients, in support of agreed IT service levels, by monitoring, planning and controlling contracts and service level agreements.
- Attends to all administrative functions of the position, taking cognizance of the need to create a clear audit trail, by carrying out and observing all associated and administrative and clerical procedures.
- Takes cognizance of, adheres to and promotes Corporate Governance and Company policies and procedures relating to health, safety, security and environmental issues.
- Trains and/or coaches end-users and co-workers to enhance information management and systems utilization by assessing objectively, probably against pre-set criteria, the ability levels of users and reports as appropriate.
- Contributes to team cohesion and personal effectiveness.
- Provides an effective interface between users and service providers, including external commercial suppliers where applicable. This interface includes documenting problems, progress checking, and ensuring all diagnostic information is provided for error resolution and incident analysis.
- Monitors and controls the capacity of the systems according to service agreements, monitoring trends and making remedial recommendations.
- Takes part in execution of IT projects in liaison with the Build (Infrastructure) team.

- BSc (Hons) relevant degree / BSc relevant degree plus Post Graduate Qualification
- A minimum of 10 years MRM post qualification experience of which 3 years should be at Senior management level or equivalent in a mining / mineral resources management environment.
- Membership to a recognised professional body e.g. South African Council for Natural Scientifi c Professional – SACNASP
- Management Development Program (MDP) or equivalent
- Mineral Resources Management (Pre-appointment training)
- Experience in leading or working in a multidisciplinary technical/geoscience environment.
