Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the below contract position (24 – 36 months) at the Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence Coordinating Unit (BOT 50) under the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture, tenable in Gaborone.
Talented, proactive, self-driven, visionary and qualified Batswana are therefore sought to fill the above mentioned positions.
Salary Scale: D2 (P218, 592.00 – P241, 344.00) per annum.
Leave: 30 working days per annum
Benefits: Entitled for 25% gratuity per annum for years worked.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Events Management / Performing Arts / Cultural Studies or related field. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Experience:
A minimum of eight (8) years relevant post qualification experience, two (2) of which should have been served at D3 level or equivalent.

Main Purpose of the job:
To provide leadership, coordination and events management of all the Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence Celebrations activities.
Key Performance Areas:
a) Coordinates, plans, choreographs and implements programmed events.
b) Coordinates final productions of the Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence pre-indepedence activities, Independence Eve and Main Independence Day Celebrations post Independence Day activities for 2014, 2015, 2016.
c) Spearheads the identification and mentoring of presenters, moderators and directors of ceremonies.
d) Consolidates progress reports on all activities implemented and submits to the BOT 50 Coordinator.
e) Guides and supports implementation of Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence activities in the Districts.
f) Conducts field visits to monitor implementation.
g) Liaises with stakeholders in the planning, coordination and implementation of BOT 50 programmes and activities.
h) Makes recommendations for the review of programmes and activities.
i) Assists in the identification potential sponsors for BOT 50 activities and makes recommendations to the Coordinator.
j) Assists in the consolidation of the BOT 50 budget estimates for submission to the BOT 50 Coordinator.
k) Meets the exigencies of the BOT 50 Secretariat.
