Job Summary

• To diagnose pathology by routine and specialized radiological procedures.
• To investigate and diagnose pathology by medical diagnostic ultrasound.

Requirements

Minimum requirements

• Degree in Diagnostic Radiography & Diploma in Sonography
• 3 years’ experience in a Hospital environment
• Registration with the Botswana Health professions Council

Key Effectiveness Areas

• Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure.
• Conducts all radiological procedures to confirm or rule out suspected pathology and makes necessary recommendations.
• Conducts and monitors ultrasound examinations in the investigations of pathology eg. Pericardial effusion, foetal abnormalities & gestational age.
• Design format for performance of all radiological examinations and coaches staff members in the examinations and diagnostic approach and ensures that professional and technical standards are adhered to.
• Maintains high level standards of radiation safety for staff and patients and performs periodical radiation safety tests on equipment to rule out radiation leakage.
• Takes cognizance of and adheres to mines policies and procedures relating to inter alia safety and environmental issues.
• Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
• Establishes and maintains business partner relationships with all key stakeholders to facilitate the optimal functioning of the nursing section.
