SECURITY OFFICER (2 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

Job Purpose
To maintain a safe and secure environment for the Mine, employees and customers by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

Requirements

Key Activities

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points and permitting entry.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures and restraining trespassers.
• Conducts investigations and recommends appropriate corrective action.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities and interviewing witnesses.
• Analyses security related information to identify possible risks and recommend appropriate actions.
• Conducts security searches.
• Liaises with stakeholders to exchange information related to security risks and cases
• Manages sub-contractor service level agreements in order to ensure compliance.
• Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Adheres to safety health and environmental policies and procedures

Minimum Education, Training & Experience Requirements

• BGCSE plus Certificate in Security Management or equivalent coupled with five years’ experience of which two should be at supervisory level preferably in a Mining environment.
• Valid Class B drivers licence is a pre-requisite
• Knowledge of SHE management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
