Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons for the above position at the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Department of Geological Survey tenable in Lobatse.
LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Economic Geologist /Geoscience or related field from a recognized and accredited institution.
MSc in Geophysics or MSc in Geoscience will be added advantage.
Experience: At least 10 years’ experience in the geological/geophysical exploration projects or related field of as an economic geologist and Geophysicist Management two years at D3 scale. Job Summary:

• Responsible for the national primary field geological mapping and delineation of potential Earth Resources.

Duties:
1. Conducts research on geo mapping techniques.
2. Advices customers on general geologic matters and mineral potentiality.
3. Attends to enquiries and queries from customers
4. Disseminates geological information to customers.
5. Monitors execution of the surveying, data analysis and preliminary exploration carried out.
6. Monitors data collecting, updating and processing for geological exploration activities.
7. Monitors the maintenance and upgrading of geological database.
8. Conducts research on geological matters and produces reports.
9. Researches on best methods and practices to keep abreast with the latest developments.
10. Updates the geological database and availability of Geological data.
11. Conducts staff performance reviews with junior staff.
12. Provides on job training for supervisees.
13. Inducts newly recruited officers.
14. Attends workshops and seminars relevant to the job and undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by Management.
