Product Competence Specialist

The role

The purpose of this position is to oversee the customer projects with relation to machine operation. Customer relations and equipment efficiency will be the main focus of the Product Competence Specialist. Identifying training skills, Machine & Operational issues that prevent effective production.

Key performance areas

• From the Academy department working in conjunction with the Business Developement department informing our customers of the importance and necessity to utilize specific machines within the guidelines and training requirements of the manufacturer / supplier.
• To undertake effective operator training and coaching to ensure optimal machine performance and output.
• Detailed Projects / Trail progress report with recommendations.
• Analysing operational process with relation to Sandvik mechanized equipment.
• Identifying operator skill gaps and implementing continuous development of skills.
• Awareness and addressing BD needs related to equipment operation.
• Continuous communication with PLM and addressing changes related to training material and operator trainer knowledge and skills. Ensure that safety standards are priority and a safe culture is promoted in all activities.
• Ensure trained operators are capable to work effectively and safe without constant supervision in the work place.

Your profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with Maths & Science or equivalent qualification
• Blasting Certificate
• Drill Rig and Bolter operating licenses
• Computer literate - Microsoft office package
• The following qualifications will be an advantage:
  • Facilitating/ Coaching qualification
  • Assessor
  • Moderator
  • Basic Project Management
• Will work with the Sandvik Academy and must comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Need to be willing to be developed on the Sandvik products and to travel to customers away from home for some duration of weeks.
• Must have strong leadership qualities, positive attitude , result orientated and the ability to cope with changes.
