Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to teach BUSINESS STUDIES in Junior Secondary Schools in various Regions of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development.

1.ASSISTANT TEACHER / TEACHER / SENIOR TEACHER II

Vacancy Circular No. 3 of 2014

1.1.Main Purpose of the Job

To provide classroom instruction to Secondary School students, assist the Head f Department/ Senior Teacher Grade I with the development and administration of instructional materials and assist the School Head with resource management tasks of the school.

1.2.Qualifications

•Applicants must have a Diploma plus a teaching qualification/ Bachelor of Education majoring in Business Studies or its equivalent.

1.3.Salary

•ENTRY LEVEL: C3 (P80 112-P95 748 per annum)
•A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in a Secondary School or equivalent or higher institution: C2(P99 336 - P118 752 per annum)
•A minimum of four (4) years teaching experience in a Secondary School or equivalent or higher institution: C1 (P123 168 - P147 180 per annum)

1.4.Benefits

•Optional contributory medical aid Scheme (Govt contributes 50% and Employee 50%)

NB:

•Retired teachers will be employed on 24-36 months contracts
•Previously dismissed teachers can only be employed if they have a Presidential pardon as per section 18 of the Public Service Act, No 30 of 2008.
