The VSO Southern Africa Regional Office is currently recruiting for a highly motivated Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to work in our Pretoria office.

Key Responsibilities:
• Capacity building - lead the development and roll out a comprehensive approach to M&E in the region that reflects VSO’s global approach, allowing Country Offices and Regions to reflect on and manage programme effectiveness and stakeholder accountability.
• Growing a global body of evidence - compile evidence to enable VSO to reflect on and manage effectiveness at a local, regional, global and thematic level.

Skills, qualifications and experience required

The Essential requirements for this post are:
• Solid background in Monitoring and Evaluation
• Extensive experience in evaluation and/or research with a depth in either/ both quantitative and qualitative methodologies
• Education to Masters level or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences
• Service oriented, customer focused approach
• Experience of working in and understanding a global organisation
• Able to plan, juggle complex multiple priorities within restricted resources
• Commitment to VSO’s work and values
• Able to travel and work long hours, including work away from the home base for up to 30% of time
