The above vacancy exists in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture. The Policy Specialist oversees policy and strategy formulation, including review and analysis of Youth policies, programmes and projects to ensure that the Youth of this country are developed and empowered.
A talented, proactive, self-driven and visionary candidate is therefore sought to fill the above mentioned position.
Leave: 30 working days per annum.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences,Youth Work, Business Management, Policy Development, Strategic Management, or related field.A Master’s Degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.

Experience: A minimum of fourteen (14) years relevant post qualification experience, two (2) of which should have been served at the level of E2 in the Public Service or equivalent level in a Parastatal or Private sector organization.

Purpose of the Job:
To provide leadership, direction and guidance in the formulation of relevant policies, programmes and legislation and to advise the Permanent Secretary on policy matters relating to Youth Development and empowerment.
Key performance areas:
• Initiates policy review in respect of the National Youth Policy, Youth development programmes and protocols.
• Collaborates with Strategic partners to improve implementation of Youth policies and legislation.
• Undertakes research on Youth development and empowerment issues to guide policy development and implementation.
